WebSep 1, 2008 · I've suddenly fallen into this issue. From a moment to another, on my other machine in my LAN, I was able to ping, but not to browse the web, or connect to IM. My current setup is Networkmanager and wifi (using a cable doesn't make any difference though). My ISP provides its own router, where I cannot access the settings page. Webyou can ping something but not able to access it with a web browser. this usually indicates a DNS issue, a Firewall issue. a Malware redirecting your DNS. What if you can ping 8.8 8.8 but not Google Com? You need to have (somewhere) an IP address for a DNS server.
